"WINNER'S TECHNIQUES"

1st Place --- 5 Fish @ 7.64 lbs. Lures:
4-inch watermelon ring worms, watermelon fluke on a mojo
rig, and sour grape whacky worms. Tackle
& Equipment:
Junky old rod and
reels with spooled with 10-15 lb. Trilene Big Game
(casting rods) and 6 lb. Trilene (spinning
rods). Techniques:
Fished deep-water
humps (20 - 28 feet) for most of the fish and one keeper came off of a
deep tree (15-foot).
Seven keepers total.
2nd Place --- 5 Fish @ 6.85 lbs. Lures:
Norman
Deep Tiny N (chart./white); Zoom Super Fluke Jr. (watermelon);
Roboworm FX Straight Tail Worm 4.5 (Aarons Magic); Zoom U-Tale Worm
7 (green pumpkin). Techniques:
I caught my first keeper on the crankbait fishing rocky
banks fast in the morning.
The other four fish were caught fishing submerged timber in
depths ranging from 15 - 30 using a combination of the above
mention tackle. 3rd Place --- 5 Fish @ 6.23 lbs.
Lures:
One keeper on a 3x lizard Carolina rigged, one keeper on a
watermelon Super Fluke with a weighted hook, one keeper on a Texas
rigged dark 6 inch straight worm, and two keepers on a dark colored Senko
with weighted hook .
Tackle & Equipment: Three different 6 1/2 foot casting rods with three different casting reels all spooled with 17 lb. test fluorocarbon line. Techniques: Fished a 22 ft. underwater island and caught 2 keepers, fished 15 ft. level in Turkey cove and caught three more keepers.
