Caring for Creation

 

St. Mark's second environmental stewardship Sunday will be held on April 13, 2008. The theme this year is conservation and preservation one of God's most precious elements.....WATER. Jim Kimmel will present the homily at all three services. There will be an educational mini-fair and silent auction in the reception area following both the 8:45 and 10:45 services. Displays will be provided by The Greater Edwards Aquifer Authority, City of San Marcos Water Dept., San Marcos River Foundation, Greater Edwards Auifer Alliance, The River Systems Institute of Texas State University, The Water Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas, St. Mark's environmental Stewardship Committee, and a display regarding rainwater gardening will be hosted by June Tidwell, master gardner and member of St. Mark's. Special water conservation coloring books will be available for the children.

Environmental Stewardship Sunday PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Everyone is encouraged to bring a photo or magazine picture of his favorite "water place" and post it on the display board located in the narthex . This board will be up on April 6th and 13th. Those who bring pictures will be eligible to win a surprise gift at a special drawing on Environmental Stewardship Sunday. There will be a drawing for a gift for an adult and for a child.
