Trinity Sunday Sunday, May 25 Trinity
Sunday is one of the few feasts of the Christian Year that celebrates a
reality and doctrine rather than an event. On Trinity Sunday we remember and
honor the eternal God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Trinity
Sunday is celebrated the Sunday after Pentecost, and lasts only one day,
which is symbolic of the unity of the Trinity. The Eastern Churches have no
tradition of Trinity Sunday, arguing that they celebrate the Trinity every
Sunday. Westerners do as well, although they set aside a special feast day
for the purpose. The
Trinity is one of the most fascinating - and controversial - Christian
dogmas. The Trinity is a mystery. By mystery the Church does not mean a
riddle, but rather the Trinity is a reality above our human
comprehension that we may begin to grasp, but ultimately must know through
worship, symbol, and faith. It has been said that mystery is not a wall to run up against, but an
ocean in which to swim. Rite 13 Celebration Sunday, May 25,
8:45am The transformation from
childhood to manhood or womanhood marks one of God's great gifts. On
Sunday, May 25, at the 8:45am service, we will celebrate the gift of

Food
Bank Offering Each Sunday, 8:45am Service Each Sunday, the Hosts of the
8:45am service will take up a second offering for the San Marcos Area Food
Bank. Please bring one item each
Sunday of non-perishable food that can be distributed by the Food Bank. The third Sunday of the month is sometimes
referred to as “Hunger Sunday”.
Persons living on a low, fixed income frequently run out of money and
food stamps by this time of the month.
If each of us can give one non-perishable item each Sunday, our young
Hosts will be able to deliver to the Food Bank sizable amounts of food that
help relieve some of the need. Remember, this coming week, someone
will run out of food stamps and money for food. Help us fill the grocery cart! Preschool

Rite 13 Celebration Sunday, May 25,
8:45am The transformation from childhood
to manhood or womanhood marks one of God's great gifts. On Sunday, May
25, at the 8:45am service, we will celebrate the gift of womanhood with Carly Villarreal.
Biography of Celebrant, Carly
Villarreal Carly was born on April 22, 1995, the night
before the St. Mark’s picnic that year. She is completing 7th
grade at Goodnight Jr. High in Carly loves dance and takes classes in
ballet, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, pointe, tap, and
stretch and strengthening at The Pointe. If you are planning to attend
The Pointe’s upcoming dance recital look for her in the Level 7
performances. Before she goes to dance on Tuesdays she studies piano
with Dr. Karen Munson whom we met through one of the St. Mark’s silent
auctions. This year Carly earned a silver
medal in Music Theory and recently completed her piano guild auditions.
Last fall she earned a superior rating in a hymn competition. Carly spends every Friday afternoon and
evening with a group of friends she met playing select soccer that now bears
the name Friday group. Like Carly, not all of
them still play select soccer but all of them play soccer for their
respective schools and they love each other. Carly
is a pretty good student and was recently inducted into National Jr. Honor
Society. Carly has a passion for classic
movies and watches her collection of old movies every chance she gets unless
she is reading a book. Carly’s pet is a corn
