GENERAL GUIDELINES to be followed :

  • The facility will be directly operated by William R. Hayward.

  • Free air and water will be available.

  • The facility will be branded Conoco and incorporate the full Conoco Image.

  • An "honor all credit cards" program will be offered during and, for a specified period, after opening.



  • The overall operation must be upscale and meet area requirements. The existing facility environment must be significantly upgraded. The creation of a facility that reflects total quality and professionalism must be attained.



  • Full credit/debit card acceptance will be implemented.

  • Same price "cash or credit" on gasoline will apply.



  • A competitive pricing position relative to the gasoline and interior operations will be established and maintained.

  • Operational hours will be 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

  • Designated employee and vendor parking will be available remote from the unit.

  • A uniform and name tag policy will be in effect.

  • A merchandising plan-o-gram will be developed.

  • A customer comment card program will be implemented.

  • A "drive-up" telephone station will be available.

  • Attention will be given to overall lighting and landscape requirements to enhance customer awareness factors and the overall facility environment,

  • Heightened security standards will be met.

  • Directional signage relating to overall on-site movement is critical.

  • An outside area will be developed to serve as a "R&R" stop for transient customers.

  • "Commuter" merchandising programs will be developed.



  • Frequent customer merchandising programs will be developed.

  • High-rise sign age will be raised.

  • "Trailblazers/Pathfinder" will be Installed.

  • All grade price signage will be Installed.

  • A reader board will be incorporated Into the overall signage program.

  • The entire lot will be re-paved, and the additional property located behind the existing store will be converted into up-front store parking. The building will be re-configured to have entrance points relative to both the gas installation and the proposed parking area.
