The
San Marcos Suns
The EVENT, Sandcastle Days 99' is now only a memory, and the San Marcos Suns had another grand time. The weather was beautiful, water was warm, and the contest was on the beach at the Surf Motel, home of the famous Boomerang Billy's Beach Bar. The Suns did a group build over a three day period and over 25 teams competed on Saturday for best in the sandcastle competition. I think Walter had the right plan, start at the top and finish on Sunday.
The results from Saturday's competition are posted on the official
web site for Sandcastle Days, http://www.sandcastledays.com
We would like to thank all the sponsors of this event and especially Mary
K. Pollard (Event co-ordinator, SPI CVB) for all of her hard work in getting
this event to happen as well as the SOB's for their contributions.

MILLENNIUM PARTY, Saturday night
The great Millennium Party featuring my friend and yours Mr.
Ponty Bone along with all the talented musical families among the Suns.
Thanks to Sammy we were able to return to our favorite spot on the secord
floor of the Palmetto Inn Restaurant. Head chief, Bob Niemietz along with
Ted Miska served up some delious Crazy Cajun Shrimp Boil and then it was
time for music. Barry Brittain, Winston Haun, and Grant Mazak had an excellent
sound system set-up and ready to play. Pam & Walter got on the internet
and purchased some washboards just in time to join with the band this year.
The theme this year was
"Screw the Millennium, Let the Party Start NOW !"
Good friends, good food, good music, and a beautiful beach, what more can you ask for!
NEW PHOTOS COMING SOON !
