CRHP
Christ Renews His Parish or CRHP (pronounced "Chirp"), is a spiritual renewal experience which brings adult parishioners together in small groups in order to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and each other. Since its beginning in 1969 in Parma, Ohio, Christ Renews His Parish has proven to be an effective instrument for spiritual growth in hundreds of parishes across the country.
What happens on a CRHP weekend?
The substance of the weekend is the presentation of a number of talks in which individuals share their faith stories with the participants. Group discussion and response are invited following each presentation. Opportunities for Scripture sharing, Reconciliation, and Eucharist are provided throughout the weekend.
When and where do these weekends take place?
St. John Parish currently hosts four weekends a year - two for men and two for women. They take place right here at the parish. If you would like an invitation or more information, call the Parish Office at 512-353-8969
Who conducts the weekend?
The renewal team is comprised of a Spiritual Director and Lay Director and other parishioners who have attended the previous weekend.
How long is the weekend?
The weekend begins at about 8:30 A.M. Saturday and concludes by 4:30 P.M. on Sunday.
Who may attend?
Any adult, 18 or older and out of high school, Catholic, living within the boundaries or registered at St. John is eligible to attend a CRHP weekend.
Do I need a personal invitation?
No. If you are interested, we invite everyone to attend however space is limited to 36 participants per retreat. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis.
Where will I sleep?
Sleeping accommodations are within St. John premises. Please bring your pillow, blankets or sleeping bag and an air mattress.
What about meals?
Meals and snacks are provided by members of St. John parish. If you have a special diet, please let us know when you register so we will be able to provide for your needs.
What should I wear?
Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate for both Saturday and Sunday.

NEW LIFE
What is the NEW LIFE Retreat?
The NEW LIFE Retreat is the first of 21 retreats available to our parish with the assistance of the San Andrews Catholic School of Evangelization. The national office is located in San Antonio, Texas. The international office is located in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Who May Attend?
Any Catholic over the age of 18 is invited to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ! Invite your spouse, friends, neighbors, relatives and co-workers.
What does it cost?
NOTHING! It's absolutely free and we'll even provide you with fabulous meals!
What should I bring?
An open heart and willing spirit! A Catholic bible is also a good idea, but don't let that keep you from coming. We'll have some you can borrow.
What should I expect?
Expect the best! The retreat consists of a variety of talks combined with visual demonstrations, activities and Scripture. You will also have the opportunity to participate in reconciliation and mass over the weekend.
